Fournier Père et Fils

Loire

The Fournier family has been a leading producer of Loire wines for years and their wines have been awarded with many medals. The Fournier family owns several vineyards in the commune Chaudoux planted with Sauvignon Blanc. The company has been family owned for several generations. The vineyards are located on the best soils of the region, the clay-limestone and silica, which is so important for the typical flavor palette of white Loire wines. Both Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé AOC's are known for their lively, fresh, juicy and aromatic wines. Very strong dusty, floral aromas with a somewhat "greenish" character. The main differences between them are somewhat higher acidity of the Pouilly Fumé and characteristic "flint" flavor.
